According to reports the police presence outside parliament has been dramatically increased ahead of a planned demonstration held by supporters of the Albanian opposition demanding center left Prime Minister Edi Rama resigns, with a predicted attendance of 1000 people. Like a previous rally December 08 which became violent, protesters 17 December began throwing eggs and rocks at members of the police forces.

Përfaqësuesit e opozitës do të jenë në orën 09:30 rreth Parlamentit, ku deputetët e mazhorancës dhe përfaqësuesit e rinj të opozitës do të mblidhen për diskutimin e projektligjeve.
Opozita vazhdimisht ka bërë thirrje që protesta të jetë paqësore.
Ndërkohë mësohet se PD ka zhvilluar takime në të gjithë vendin për t’i thirrur ata drejt protestës.
